I realize that my friends and fans are anxious to know
what Sarah Fisher & Walker Racing have planned for the 2002 season. There
really isn't much I can say at this point about solid plans. All we can do
is be positive and keep looking for that almighty primary sponsor. Derrick
has relayed concerns to me about not making the first race dependant on
sponsorship, but nothing is confirmed. We are dedicated to the IRL solely
and have no other plans to divert to another series. I truly think the IRL
is the series of the future and I will do anything to stay within its core
group of people. The other question I have been getting is whether or not we
are going to be in the starter series or not. This is certainly an option
for Derrick if he cannot find adequate sponsorship, but I would rather not
go that path. It is really all up in the air right now. All I know is that I
want to race, to win and compete in the IRL. Nothing will stop myself as a
driver from doing just that. Winning is so important to me now and it is so
hard to think "win" with the limited funding against the big budgets.
Positive is the only way to think nowadays. That is certainly one of the
