Post-Practice
Quote:: (Courtesy

Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone): “We came a really long way today. I was
pretty happy because we started off slow, but we all pitched in after the
first session. Everybody gave just a little bit more in the afternoon, and
it shows what happens when you give your all. We had more than a second
gain. We came to right up on Sam’s (Hornish) time. That is important to us
that we can finish up the day and feel good about what we have done. We
are just looking at some things we can do for tomorrow or Sunday just so
we have a good race car. As long as we have that, we will be pretty
good.” Pre Race

SARAH FISHER (No. 23
Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone): “Drivers who have competed at Motegi
before will have an advantage over the rest of us, at least during the
first practice session, as we will still be learning the new track. Even
though I traveled to Motegi last fall to drive the IRL two-seater car,
that won’t really help me out as the two-seater handles totally
differently than our actual race cars. The Japanese fans were so
enthusiastic when we were there in the fall; it will be interesting to see
their reactions when they witness our exciting side-by-side racing. The
Motegi track has put a lot of work into us coming here, especially with
the resurfacing of the track, which should make for a very smooth surface
for us to drive on.” |
