A lot to be optimistic about after the Richmond Race.
Sarah was a little disappointed in herself for losing the handle in turn 4
on lap 159, but overall the weekend was positive. “When I hit the wall, we
had just changed the tires and gone back out,” Sarah said. “I don’t think
they were up to pressure yet. I should have been a bit more patient and
waited a little longer to make a move.” As for racing with Dreyer and
Reinbold with a deal and team that was put together just days before the
weekend race. “This weekend was a great start in communicating between my
new team and engineer Mark Weida,” Sarah added. “The car got consistently
better as the race went on although there was a lot of rubber on the track.
On our second-to-last tire change, the car was great. I was able to run
really good, consistent laps and was catching the pack Sam (Hornish) was in,
and Eddie (Cheever) wasn’t able to catch me.” The car appeared to have only
some suspension damage and will be ready for next week at St. Louis. |
